Busy night tonight.
Karaoke + Poetry = Fun rolls into the Bowery Poetry Club at 10pm. It's free, and if you want to read and sing, drop me an email at daniel m nester at hotmail dot com. Details on where to go are
here and what choices of songs you have are
here (scroll down).
Before that, somewhere between 7 and 9:45pm, I will be playing three cover tunes with Gene "
bakedziti.net" Cawley on bass/vocals and Drew "
Overlap" Gardner on drums for the
Boog City Classic Albums Live's Live Aid at 20 concert.
Our set, under the name Balls to Monty (a reference to
Withnail & I), will comprise the following:
U2's "Bad"
Queen's "Hammer to Fall"
Simple Minds' "(Don't You) Forget About Me"
I can promise you that Gene and Drew will rock the house. I'm working on it, and with enough coffee in me, I should be up to the task. I'll be bringing my full-on
Brian May set-up: the
Burns Red Special, the
Brian May Deacy amp, maybe even curly guitar chords if
First Flight Music has 'em.
